My Grandmother Was Discharged Today

15 January 2008

As i was walking back home, i was surprised when i saw that the windows were opened. I unlocked the door and saw my father holding on to my grandmother's hand as she walked slowly to my brother's room. Due to the fact the my aunts were sick and did not want to spread the illness to my grandmother, she had to stay in our house. I was very happy to see her and rushed to my brother's room to greet her. She replied to my greeting softly and smiled at me.

I helped my father pack my brother's stuff to my room temporarily as she could not walk much and had to use a low bed like my brother's. I had a Double-Decker bed so my room could accommodate two people. Even though it was quite messy with all that new arrangement, our family did not bother about this bit of hassle. All of us were trying to assist her in the best way we could, asking her for anything she needed and any television programme she wanted to watch. When she took her nap, no one dared to make any noise.

She looked very happy when staying here but hope that my aunts would recover soon too.

Spring Cleaning Time

13 January 2008

My father when to the hospital to visit my grandmother early in the morning so my brother, mother and I would have to do the spring cleaning job by ourselves. My brother was promoted to JC2 this year and had a lot of homework to be done compared to me so i did not have any excuse not to help. Today's job was to bring down the curtains for washing and with the absence of my father from the spring cleaning job, i had to do it.

This may sound weird but it was the first time i was using the ladder from what i could remember. The ladder looked shaky but it was like a challenge calling itself upon me. I climbed it and it did not feel unstable at the top. I gleefully took down the the curtains one by one and somehow got addicted to climbing the ladder. I felt very great at that time as if i had some kind of ability and started bragging to my brother about i being able to climb the ladder. Both of us were afraid of climbing the ladder at first and so i was happy to be able to climb it before he did. I continued to take down the curtains and brought them to wash, hoping to relieve myself of the job next week.

I wished next week's job would be easier.

My Grandmother Was Admitted To The Hospital

12 January 2008

My grandmother was admitted to the hospital today at 3am in the morning and my father rushed to the hospital upon hearing the early morning wake up call. We were all taken back by this piece of news as my grandmother was very healthy and rarely falls sick. Her feet became swollen days before but we did not thought that it would so bad.

She was brought to the Tan Tock Seng Hospital for immediate treatment and my aunts and my parents had to look after her. She took many jabs and medicines to suppress the sickness and had to have plenty of rest for a full recovery. My brother and i visited her after lunch, accompanied by our parents. She looked pale and tired but tried her best to take a peek at us. She gave us a slight smile and took her spectacles to have a good look at her grandchildren. We were there till dinner time to have a good look at her before having dinner with our parents.

I hope that she would be discharged soon and remain healthy after that.
